Luna Moth Cape
This Luna Moth cape has unfinished edges to add to the moth's fuzzy appearance. There are white detail stitches within the wings and the eyes have the same stitch,a zig-zag, to add the fuzzy look as well.
The antennae are only connected through the center on a continuous wire to keep them straight and the side pieces were left unattached to create a layered look that the moth has in real life. I was able to poke the wire through the hood fabric and form a "headband" of sorts to keep the antennae straight and not fall.
I was debating between a few buttons and a wooden piece for the closure, but felt the wood aided the aesthetic of the cape. I braided a golden ribbon to be the loop as it easily reflected the antennae color and kept the design cohesive.
